The PDI Model DPS Series Fill by Weight case packer is used to quickly and accurately fill an RSC (Regular Slotted Container) case/box to a desired weight. The DPS machine incorporates case sequencing and positioning, product distribution and filling, and product weighing in one compact footprint.
A unique product distribution system is used to increase filling accuracy. The product distribution begins in the bulk mode—where product is quickly conveyed into the box. When the box is nearly full, the product distribution will then switch to trickle filling mode—streamlining and slowing down the product fill until the box reaches the desired weight. Dual-scale or single-scale models are available depending on your production needs.
Variable speed conveyors are used instead of weigh hoppers to minimize product drop height, which reduces product damage for fragile items such as cookies and candy bars. The conveyors move product quickly and accurately.
Weigh belts with brushless DC servos are used in dry and damp environments. The case packer is all electric and does not require compressed air in this configuration. If the machine is in an environment that requires a more severe wash down, lifting weigh platforms (with IP69K air cylinders) will be used.
PDI can also provide empty and full case conveyors, product conveyors, accumulation conveyors, and spiral chutes as needed for your application. Integration of 3rd party OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) equipment such as case erectors and bag inserters can also be provided, along with full upstream and downstream controls integration.
