See the overview for the CSW “End of Line” Case Checkweigher in the video below.
The CSW “End of Line” Checkweigher accurately weighs cases, trays, and cartons to ensure correct product weight before shipping. All the functions of the machine occur in a compact footprint to save floorspace.
The Next Case HoldBack Mechanism ensures that only one case is sequenced onto the weigh platform at a time. Using a holdback mechanism instead of a separate sequencing conveyor cuts down the overall length of the line. Once the case is sequenced onto the machine, it will be weighed by the patented Lifting Weigh Platform. The platform only weighs the product, not the entire conveyor, which protects the load cells from being damaged and produces highly accurate results.
The product weight is measured and compared to an over/under weight that is part of the recipe entered on the operator interface. Weight accuracy is measured in grams. If the product is within weight tolerance, the box is allowed to proceed down the line. If the product is outside of weight tolerance, it is removed from the line by a reject mechanism.
The Checkweigher is controlled by industry-standard PLCs instead of proprietary digital control boards. PLCs require minimum training, as most plant maintenance technicians are familiar with them. The Checkweigher can easily interface with external devices such as bar code scanners and printers. All PDI machines are made in America.
