Full Overlap (FOL) Box Flap Actuator

The optional full overlap (FOL) box flap actuator can be provided on the PDI Model CTA case sealer for boxes and cartons that have full overlap (FOP) top flaps.

The actuator extends down to fold the right-hand major flap as the box moves down the machine. The left-hand major flap is then folded by the top belt on the machine. The top belts keep the flaps held down as the box is taped shut.

All actuators on PDI case sealers are fully electric, which provides smooth, repeatable results. The CTA case sealer uses energy efficient 3-phase motors and DC brushless drives to minimize power consumption and provide years of reliable service for your manufacturing operations.

Full overlap boxes use flaps that fold all the way across the width of the box. Boxes with flaps overlapping the entire width are stronger than regular slotted carton (RSC) boxes—which have flaps that don’t fold all the way across the box’s width—and are harder to dent or crush. This gives products packaged in full overlap boxes extra protection during transport.
